Feburary 2022 - Present

The cloud migration project aims to help the client vacate their data center by 2027. The systems currently hosted on-premises are primarily based on Windows and .NET tech stacks. My role is to leverage the existing enterprise platform to migrate the client’s workloads to the cloud. Given the complexity involved, the project has been divided into different phases to gradually move workloads to the cloud. Throughout this project, we utilized various tools to assist with delivery, including: Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Codefresh, Artifactory, Bamboo, New Relic, Splunk

April 2020 - January 2022

Migrating on-premises workloads to AWS with moderate replatforming of legacy applications that run on Apache Tomcat or IIS. One of the biggest challenges of this project was convincing stakeholders to shift their ‘on-premises’ mindset and embrace modern practices. We conducted regular workshops to upskill the team and worked closely with them throughout the migration. Ultimately, we raised the team’s cloud skill level, enabling them to operate and maintain cloud workloads independently after the project was completed.

June - December 2021

Worked within a team of developers and data engineers focused on delivering an internal product, which was a crucial component of the company’s data lake in AWS. My primary role was managing the infrastructure using Terraform, Packer, Ansible, and Jenkins.

June 2021

This was a short engagement that involved bootstrapping Azure accounts using Servian’s custom solutions (Terraform & Azure DevOps) to lay the foundation for the client’s data pipelines. The work primarily focused on two areas: setting up the environment and pipelines, and upskilling the client’s engineers so they could maintain the solution independently.

Feburary 2020 - April 2020

Designed and implemented a custom solution using AWS networks and services to connect on-premises IBM AIX systems to third-party systems. The solution, built with ELB, Cognito, and AWS PrivateLink, was a secure proxy running in AWS that handled connection requests between on-premises and third-party systems. The chosen Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool was AWS CloudFormation, which was the standard in the client’s organization. The custom solution also included integration with the client’s Azure Active Directory for user authentication via AWS Cognito.

Lead a small team of 3 to help client build a GCP environment. Worked closely with client’s DevOps team to design and build GCP environments in preparation of data centre exit.

Helping clients uplift/re-platform on-premises workloads into cloud. Embedded in client’s DevOps team to design and develop cloud solutions. Collaborated with AWS Professional Services to run upskilling sessions to accelerate client’s cloud adpotion.

Responsible for application monitoring of tolling and corporate systems. Working with application SMEs on application monitoring, performance and automation. Day to day tools: Shell scripting (Bash, Perl and Python), PL/SQL, Site24x7, Dynatrace and Oracle Enterprise Manager.

Technical Consultant of The Care Manager (TCM), a solution for Community Care and Aged Care service providers. Developing and supporting custom modules & SQL scripts based on client requirement. Primarily using T-SQL to create functions/stored procedures, SSIS or SSRS.

Second level support of business critical applications using following technologies: Websphere 6, IIS, SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SAP BO. Responsible for creating and maintaining reports (Crystal Reports; Business Objects Web Intelligence; SSRS). Work in BAU (Incident/Change/Problem Management) and project mixed environment.
